Position
As an International Accounting Lead, you will take end-to-end ownership of accounting operations across the company’s Croatian and French entities. Reporting into senior finance leadership and working closely with a team of accountants, you will own the month-end close, statutory and management reporting, audits, and tax compliance across both markets. Part of the role is hands-on delivery; part of it is coordinating and quality-controlling local partners. This is a senior, dynamic position for a motivated person seeking to develop their career further and take on broader responsibilities within a growing global organization.
Your Responsibilities
Owning and delivering the monthly close on time and to internal standards, including reviewing and reconciling bank statements and balance sheet accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger;
Coordinating the quarterly and year-end close for the assigned entities;
Leading, reviewing, developing, and mentoring the small accounting team responsible for individual locations;
Reviewing and approving journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition, and other significant accounting transactions;
Managing statutory and management reporting across both entities, and ensuring compliance with applicable reporting standards;
Running external audits end-to-end and acting as the key contact for auditors, external advisors, and local accounting partners;
Owning tax compliance, including VAT and payroll oversight, ensuring all requirements are met across markets;
Managing intercompany accounting, consolidations, and leases;
Overseeing fixed-asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and related accruals;
Partnering with stakeholders across both markets and bringing ideas, initiative, and process improvements, including new and AI-based tools.
The Candidate
5+ years of experience in relevant accounting roles, including international accounting experience;
2+ years of experience in managing a team and/or stakeholders;
Good understanding of legal and tax regulations in accounting, including familiarity with Croatian VAT (PDV) and payroll;
Experience working with external audits;
Solid understanding of intercompany accounting, reporting standards, and group compliance;
Fluent in Croatian and English, with strong, advanced Excel skills;
Knowledge of ERP-type systems and MS Office;
Ability to work in a fast, demanding environment;
Willingness to learn French accounting standards and fully own the French entities, even without prior French experience.
