Position

Senior Developer Experience Engineer – Technical Lead is a senior dual-role position within the Developer Integration team — a specialized unit responsible for building and evolving the internal developer experience platform. The team owns core components of the development ecosystem, including CI/CD infrastructure, build tooling, artifact management, and the developer portal, directly impacting how efficiently engineering teams deliver software.

The focus of the role is on improving developer productivity, driving platform evolution, and acting as a technical anchor for CI/CD practices and developer tooling across the organisation.

• Technical Direction & Point of Contact: Define and drive the technical direction of the developer experience platform; act as the main technical point of contact for architecture and tooling decisions
• Architecture & Design: Design and implement scalable solutions for CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and developer tooling; lead end-to-end architecture decisions related to developer workflows
• Mentoring & Leadership: Guide and mentor engineers within the team on best practices and advanced engineering principles
• Backlog & Priorities: Own and manage the technical backlog, ensuring alignment with engineering priorities and business needs
• Developer Productivity: Collaborate closely with development teams to identify pain points and improve workflows and delivery cycles
• Code Quality & Standards: Establish and enforce code quality standards, testing strategies, and review processes
• Tooling Adoption: Drive adoption of modern development practices and tooling across the organisation

Candidate

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including experience working within larger engineering teams — not only writing code, but designing solutions at a system level and taking ownership of how problems are solved in software
• Proven experience leading a team with accountability for delivery — whether as a tech lead, architect, or similar role where you were responsible for outcomes, timelines, or scope, not just technical contribution
• Strong programming background in Java or Kotlin (must); Kotlin is the primary language used
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins — not just as a deployment tool, but developing and maintaining CI/CD pipeline infrastructure in larger engineering organisations with multiple teams
• Gradle or Maven (must); solid understanding of build systems and build automation
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices, containerization (Docker), and artifact management (e.g. JFrog)
• Experience with scripting and automation (Groovy, Bash, or Python), source control systems, and code quality frameworks
• Excellent communication skills; fluent English — German is a plus
