Position

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a Croatia-based engineering team that builds business-critical products used across the United States. You will work with a modern technology stack including .NET 8+, C#, SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, Azure services, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
This is a hands-on senior role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, designing scalable systems, and turning business requirements into technical solutions.
You will play an active role in architecture discussions, system design decisions, and the ongoing evolution of a modern cloud-native platform.
 

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs within a microservices architecture.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Design and implement integrations with external systems and service providers.
• Build and maintain event-driven communication between services.
• Optimize database performance, data models, and application scalability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy.
• Review code, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve system reliability and performance.

The Candidate

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in C#, .NET, and EF Core.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL Server and database design principles.
• Experience building distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate in a highly technical environment.
• Curious, adaptable, and motivated by continuous learning and improvement.
